World-first, Australian technology to support elderly in Moreton Bay
A brand new technology designed to allow older Australians to live independently at home for longer is being trialled in Moreton Bay. Five hundred families will be offered the new ‘AbiBird’ technology free of charge as part of its Australian roll-out, with Mayor Allan Sutherland enthusiastic to test how it could benefit locals. ‘AbiBird’ was invented in Australia to support people who want to retain their independence as they age. The AbiBird sensor contains technology that understands and tracks ‘normal’ day and night activity within a home and is paired to the smartphone of a family member or carer.
