100+ hackers, 50 hours, one weekend and Australia’s very first water hackathon is complete!
WaterHack18 is the first of its kind – a hackathon focused solely on the Australian water industry. Bright minds including developers, designers, engineers, scientists and everyone in between will be inspired over one weekend to solve water industry challenges. To help hackers on their journey, they’ll have access to Amazon Web Services (AWS) technology, Thinxtra Xkit devkit and receive mentoring from industry experts and members of the Brisbane start-up community.
Congratulations to Team Waterwise who won the AECOM IoT challenge with a solution using the Thinxtra Xkit
Thinxtra QLD manager & Waterhack’s supporter, Riccardo Tenaglia said: “Waterhack is all about finding real solutions to better manage this scarce ressource which is water, for a more sustainable future. It was great to see how the Thinxtra Xkit allowed Team Waterwi$e to bring their idea to life within a week-end. The Xkit has been designed for that simple purpose: make IoT a reality. And great ideas can go a long way via the Sigfox global ecosystem.”
