For RCZ4, Xkit is available to ship via two online stores: Glyn and IoT Store

Renald Gallis, VP Marketing and Ecosystem at Thinxtra: “We realised early in the game that the best way to support the ecosystem is by creating a truly low cost, versatile and powerful development kit. This aligns with the Sigfox value proposition: low cost, simple and streamlined connectivity. The simplicity is further enhanced via our easy 4-step set up process which allows users to register online and get immediate access to a year of free Sigfox connectivity. “

The Xkit will be presented and demonstrated by Kade Miller at Kydo in Melbourne on May 2nd. Details and registration.

For full details about the Xkit, visit the Xkit page on the Thinxtra website.

About Thinxtra
Thinxtra is empowering the Internet of Things in Asia Pacific by deploying the world-leading Sigfox LPWA network as well as building a full eco-system of IoT solutions and services to enable the non-connected to connect, to increase productivity, accelerate decision making, improve quality of service and quality of life, and find more economical solutions to common problems. Sigfox is the world’s leading provider of connectivity for the Internet of Things (IoT). The company has built a global network to connect billions of devices to the Internet while consuming as little energy as possible, as simply as possible.
Sigfox’s unique approach to device-to-cloud communications addresses the three greatest barriers to global IoT adoption: cost, energy consumption, and global scalability. Thinxtra’s Sigfox network currently covers 71% of the population in Australia and 89% of the population in New Zealand and will start deployment in Hong Kong by June 2017. It will cover 95% of the population of those countries by the end of 2017.
Thinxtra was founded by IoT and network experts who share a common passion for connecting things to improve business processes and people lives. It is backed by NZX-listed high-tech company Rakon Limited, which has a history of innovation in communications technology going back some 50 years.

Thinxtra and Victory Concept Partner to Build IoT Devices and Inspire Innovation in AsiaPac

Hong Kong, April 6th, 2017 — Internet of Things (IoT) provider Thinxtra and wireless technology innovator Victory Concept are jointly developing IoT devices that AsiaPac companies can use to create scalable and cost-effective IoT applications that increase energy efficiency, improve productivity and business processes as well as people’s lives.

Victory Concept will design and manufacture a range of low-cost IoT devices and sensors to run on the low-power wide-area (LPWA)* Sigfox network that Thinxtra will deploy throughout Hong Kong soon. These devices, and the applications created for them, will also be compatible with Sigfox networks in 32 countries around the world.

Sigfox is the world’s most mature LPWA network and the first global cellular network fully dedicated to Internet of Things. Thinxtra is its exclusive operator in Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong.

Victory Concepts’ Sigfox-enabled devices will provide optimal radio capacity and automated set-up so that they can instantly connect to any Sigfox network and provide great benefits to the customers in the region. With access to low-cost devices, secure connectivity and global scalability, local businesses and entrepreneurs in AsiaPac will be empowered to capitalise on growing worldwide interest in business-to-business and business-to-consumer IoT solutions.

“The Thinxtra network will offer companies and researchers in Hong Kong the chance to create new products and services based on IoT. We believe that Hong Kong has the potential to be a world-leading IoT design and manufacturing hub,” said Murray Hankinson, Managing Director of Thinxtra Asia. “With the skills and facilities to provide a reliable supply of high-quality, low-cost devices in Hong Kong, Victory Concept is helping us create the right conditions for IoT innovation to flourish here and spread around Asia Pacific and to the world.”

“Victory Concept is pleased to help Thinxtra create the foundations for a thriving IoT ecosystem in Hong Kong. The Sigfox technology is open and reliable, delivering a quality signal over a very wide area. It’s an ideal platform for us to develop low-cost connected devices. We expect to see them applied in a range of industries for asset tracking and monitoring, and to enable new consumer applications such as smart tracking of pets, bikes, boats and more,” said Jenny Wong, Managing Director, Victory Concept.

Thinxtra and Victory Concept will initially develop a low-cost environmental sensor, a low-cost GPS tracker and a low-cost tracker that uses only the Sigfox Spot’it geo-location service for asset tracking.

Victory Concept expect to launch their low-cost GPS tracker as soon as Q3 2017, just in time for test with the local Thinxtra LPWA network due to launch in Hong Kong by June 2017.

In addition to partnering with device makers like Victory Concept, Thinxtra is also working with platform suppliers, systems integrators and solutions developers to create an IoT ecosystem in Hong Kong and nearby. Thinxtra is collaborating with Hong Kong Science and Technology Park on research and development, as well as the design of devices, sensors and solutions.
